XP Home vs. XP Professional

Windows XP Home Edition is just as its namesake suggests: the version of Windows XP that is specific for home use. It is a basic Windows XP package that includes basic security support for its users. The platform also includes built in support for networking between peers; however, this ability is limited to a network of up to only five computers. Windows XP Home also includes a backup utility; however, it is not automatically included with the initial setup of the system.

Windows XP Professional has all the features of Windows XP Home, and more. This version of Windows XP is most widely used by professionals with larger businesses, while the Home Edition is used for everyday users, and sometimes small business owners. As such, Windows XP Professional includes an extended security support package between multiple users using the same computer. This platform’s peer to peer networking is more sophisticated, including support for those who wish to join a Windows NT domain. The backup utility is also installed instantly.

While Windows XP Home Edition does not allow for its users to hold domain names, Windows XP Professional is set up with standard domain access for its users. As well as allowing domain ownership, Windows XP Professional includes a multitude of features that are not included in the Home edition. These include, but are not limited to, Administrative Tools accessible through the Start Menu and Control Panel, a Boot Configuration manager, a Group Policy Refresh utility, Multi-Lingual User Interface (or MUI) add-on, a Performance Log Manager, a Scheduled Tasks console, Tasklist, and Telnet Administrator.

As well as coming with its fair share of modified features, the Windows XP Professional package provides support for multi-processor systems, such as those networks containing two or four CPUs. It is also equipped with Dynamic Discs and a Fax feature.

Summary:

1. Windows XP Home Edition is strictly for use in a personal home setting (at times, for small business owners); Windows XP Professional Edition is used for larger businesses that make use of multi-CPU networks.

2. Windows XP Home Edition comes with a basic package for support, and peer to peer computer networking (up to five computers); Windows XP Professional Edition comes with a more sophisticated peer networking package, modified security support between multiple users on the same computer, and support for those who wish to join a Windows NT domain.

Title: Windows XP Performance Edition SP3 - March 2009
Category: OC
Developer: Microsoft
Year: 2009
File Size: 263 mb

[LEFT]
This assembly is one of the most compact Windows XP SP3 - the same one that is achieved by a high degree of compression when creating an ISO image. Being tested at Microsoft, updates are downloaded without any problems. Includes all official updates for March 2009. English version.

About file:
Language: English
File Format: ISO
Platform / OS: PC
This supports ALL Languages and ALL Keyboard Layouts.

This is a FULL Install. You CANNOT Upgrade from previous versions of Windows.
There is no validation required. This PASSES WGA. This works 100% with Windows Update.
I have included the CD-Key already in the install process. This means at no point will you have to enter it.
Some people using Macs or Virtual Machines might need the serial. See Serial.txt if you do need it.
This has all windows updates through March 2009. This is has been tested numerous times with no errors.
This has minimalist Internet Explorer 6.
This is the x86 version (32Bit).

Updates currently work fine and this also currently passes WGA. As a preventative measure, I've also
included Office and Windows WGA *****s which are in a folder called "TJ" on the disc. You don't need
to use these unless you can't get updates, or this is no longer passing WGA.

I have disabled and deleted the Classic Windows XP Install Screens with the info about XP and the blue Background.
You will just see a black background now and the install will look similar to 2000. This saves Space and gives more
info while installing.

The Minimum HD and RAM Requirements have been lifted. You can try and install this on whatever machine you like now.
High ISO Compression has been enabled to save space.

Install Notes:
1. Burn the ISO using a program such as IMGBurn, Nero, Alcohol 120, Blindwrite, ect... (Burn at a slow Speed to ensure no errors, 1x-4x)
2. Change Bios Priority settings so it boots from the CD-ROM Drive First. (You may be able to skip this step)
3. Insert Disc and Reboot PC, Follow the on screen prompts and enjoy.

Notes:
If you are getting errors while copying files. It's your CD, not the release. Try burning it to different brand of cd/media and try burning at the slowest speed possible.
I just tested this in VMWare and it works flawless. You should get between 16-19 Processes and under 100mb of ram usage when using the computer initially. Everything you install/use will obviously increase this, however its the leanest XP Copy around.

*TidBits*
People are always like, "IE Sucks, Take it out." I would if I could, but removing IE can cause a lot of problems with other applications. Its better left in and just not used. Same goes for Outlook Express. This also contains NO drivers. Don't ask why you have low resolution, go install your graphics drivers. Don't ask why your wireless card won't work, go install its drivers.
