How To Get Into Windows
Sun, 10 Jan 2010 11:36:06 +0000
It’s a well known fact that the Windows Media Player 12 (WMP 12) present in Windows 7 doesn’t come with the taskbar toolbar. Windows Media Player Taskbar Toolbar, if you don’t know, is a small toolbar that appears in the taskbar when you minimize Windows Media Player.
As many of the Vista and XP users are missing this handy toolbar in Windows 7, here is a master guide to help you get taskbar toolbar in Windows 7 with all features.
How to get Windows Media Player Taskbar Toolbar in Windows 7:
1. Download the wmpband.dll file from here.
2. Copy the file to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player folder.
3. Now, you need to make sure that Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service is disabled. Type in Services in Start menu search box and then hit enter to launch Services window. Locate Windows Media Player Network Sharing service and stop it.
4. Open the Command Prompt as administrator and execute the following command:
regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmpband.dll"
Here change “c” your Windows 7 drive.
Wait for a few seconds to see the succeed message.
5. Launch WMP and minimize it.
6. Right-click on the Taskbar, go to Toolbars and then select Windows Media Player. Click Yes if you are prompted with “The Windows Media Player toolbar isn’t compatible with this version of Windows” message.
7. You are done! You should see the Windows Media Player toolbar in your taskbar now.
Thanks for the tip Justin Buser.

You might wonder what could possibly be on the Internet Movie Data Base that could possibly be so subversive that the powers that be in China would want to keep the pages from the greater Chinese public.
Many people may think that China is open, and that when Richard Nixon went to China the doors to the nation opened wise. After all, people take tours there now.
Apparently the digital world is very disturbing to the leaders in China, for they have closed off their nation from many western websites, not all of which the average person would think there was any harm in visiting.
The Digital Inspiration site tells about the possible reasons for IMDB being walled off, and gives other currently restricted sites -
Amazon owned IMDB.com, a popular web database of movies and actors, is no longer accessible from China.
Why China Blocked IMDB
While there has been no official comment on why the IMDB site was blocked inside China, rumors on Twitter suggest that this documentary on the Dalai Lama and Tibet may have been the main reason for the block.
The film talks about Tibetans living in exile and their struggle to free Tibet. The film also contains scenes from Chinese occupied Lhasa (Tibet’s capital) and all this may have been enough for the censors in China to put IMDB behind the red firewall.
Other popular websites that are currently blocked in China include Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Tumblr and Twitter. Wikipedia is only partially banned in China.

We might think that China would take a lesson from the former Soviet Union, and begin to relax the control over its people that will eventually be broken. History has shown that when people are held back, and things are hidden, or lies are told, the results are far worse than the truth ever could have been.
Though the government might think that the military could quell any uprising of the people, the laws of probability say it just is not so. If the people decided to revolt over their loss of intellectual freedom, the government could not put the over 1 billion people down. The Chinese government got lucky with Tiananmen Square, it would be unwise to try that again.
